A collection of handcrafted, high quality makeup tools with the environment, animals and durability in mind.
In Linda Mehrens Concious & Care Collection there are nine handmade, high quality, environmentally and animal friendly brushes as well as an organic soap for brushes. The bristles are premium Japanese fiber, manufactured in a factory with its own self-sufficient water filtration system.
Just two years after launching an acclaimed collection of makeup tools, Linda Mehrens started working on another collection, one that would prove to be far more difficult than she had ever imagined. It took her five years to produce tools in a way that respected animals and humans alike, as well as the environment.
- The idea of stop using natural bristles completely and instead creating something sustainable and caring became something of an obsession for me. It's great to have finished such a major project and know that I managed to do exactly what I set out to, says Linda.
In 2008 Linda Mehrens created 16 brushes and a soap, which quickly became beauty enthusiasts and professional makeup-artists’ favorites. The brushes were manufactured by hand using the finest natural bristles available and the result was a top-notch quality collection. Now finally, the new collection is out – and it’s just as Linda wanted it.
About the collection
In Linda Mehrens Concious & Care Collection are nine handmade, high quality, environmentally and animal friendly brushes as well as an organic soap for brushes. The bristles are premium Japanese fiber, manufactured in a factory with its own self-sufficient water filtration system.
To mimic natural bristles, the fiber has a wavy, rough surface with a pointed tip. The fiber is similar to squirrel in softness and the finest goat hair in firmness. It can easily grab and evenly distribute pigment for a perfect application. It won’t break, either. All brushes can be used with both wet and dry cosmetics.
The handle is made from the finest birch from certified European forests and a master brush maker in Europe assembles the brushes by hand. The packaging is made out of Swedish recyclable paper.
Linda Mehrens is a creative and result-driven entrepreneur with 27 years experience in the cosmetics industry, including 17 years as a professional makeup-artist. Linda was born into the industry, and is the third generation working with beauty. Her grandfather founded perfumery chain Parelle and was one of the first to sell creams and perfume in Sweden. Her mother and aunt still manage the original perfumery, Viola. Linda runs Mehrens MAKEUP ACADEMY, a school for makeup artists, which she founded in 2009.
