Choose one or more alternatives that fit your skin. Three alternatives at the most, choose the ones that you think are the biggest problems and that you want to treat with the help of skin care products.
A skin condition that is very common. You may experience dryness on the skin surface no matter what skin type you have (i.e. dry, oily or normal). When the surface of your skin is dry you may feel a tight sensation, or your skin may "crack" on the surface. Combination skin/oily skin-types can feel that their skin feels oily while simultaneous feeling dry.
These may be partially localized or spread over the entire face. Small to medium acne, pimples and pustules.
Inflamed pimples in all or large parts of the face. Redness and sensitivity may occur in connection with acne.
There are so-called black and white blackheads. This depends on whether the pore is open or closed. An open blackhead has a black dot at the top while a closed blackhead is white. (Black blackheads are not dirt, but oxidized sebum).
This is often synonymous with oily skin or combination skin. It can also be a genetic predisposition, come with age and be an effect of smoking.
The skin becomes oily and shiny due to a high sebum production. You may need to abrade the skin several times a day or blot with paper.
I don't have any of the problems above.
Dry skin is deficient in both moisture and oil. The skin can be somewhat flaky to very flaky and rough. This is due to insufficient sebum production and a low moisture percentage in the skin. Dry skin types have fine pores, i.e. pores that are very small and hardly visible. It is common that lines due to dryness develop and that your skin might feel tight.
Combination skin always consists of a combination of different skin-types divided into different zones of the face. Most common is that it's oilier/shinier/has blackheads in what is called the T-zone, i.e. forehead, nose and chin. The skin on the cheeks are then most often normal or dry.
Oily skin is due to an overproduction of oil in the sebaceous glands. Oily skin manifests itself in one or more of the following ways: large dilated pores, pimples, shininess, and oily skin. Both blackheads and pimples can occur. The entire face often looks oily and shiny.
The skin reddens easily when e.g. touched, when the mood changes, during temperature changes and intake of spicy food or drink.
The skin has a constant redness that does not disappear. The redness may occur in the entire face, or partially, on e.g. cheeks and chin. The redness is in the skin and not due to shallow blood vessels.
The skin often reacts to products by flaring up, burning, swelling, etc. Very sensitive to active products.
There are many types of eczema. Itching is the most common symptom of eczema. The skin becomes red and sometimes inflamed. Red bumps and/or water blisters can occur, if they break wounds that easily become infected occur. Long-lasting eczema can make the skin dry and thickened, you can get cracks that hurt. Dryness and flaking are common. Stress can be a contributing factor to you getting eczema or to your eczema getting worse.
A skin disease involving the central parts of the face (forehead, nose, cheeks and chin) with erythema, papules and pustules.
Can look like a net of thin red threads (vessels) on the skin.
I'm not really experiencing any of the above, my skin just generally feels a bit sensitive and fragile.
